Patrick J. Quigley IV Memorial Fellowship for Art History Majors
PURPOSE: This endowed fellowship was established by friends, colleagues, and business partners in memory of Patrick J. Quigley, Rutgers College, ‘82, a victim of the tragic events of September 11th, 2001, to provide financial assistance to students enrolled at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, New Brunswick, NJ. The fellowship provides support in the senior year to two majors in Art History who are pursuing a college degree while working to support themselves. The amount will be approximately $2,500 per student, depending on available monies.
CRITERIA: Recipients must be working undergraduate majors in Art History entering their senior year. (The timing is approximate, based on credits accrued.) Fellowships will be awarded based on academic merit and the applicant's personal essay. Recipients must be New Jersey residents.
SELECTION PROCEDURE: Students should submit applications directly to the Undergraduate Program Director, Department of Art History. The deadline for submission is typically in March. Review of applicants will take place under the direction of the undergraduate program director. The selection process will be completed in March, and formal announcement of winners will be made at the Art History end-of-year celebration in May.
HOW TO APPLY: The application consists of 4 parts:
1) Cover Sheet including your name, RU ID, class year, major(s), minor(s) and GPA
2) Un-Official Transcript
Approximately 500 words (2 typewritten pages). Subject: “Why I chose Art History as my Major.”
One letter of recommendation from a professor or instructor, to be submitted directly to the Undergraduate Program Director via email.
The first three parts of the application should be submitted as a single PDF directly to the UPD via email.
The deadline for applications is typically in late January. The next deadline is February 28, 2023
