Topics Vary
Fall, 2023 Professor Ricardo Montez - A course on Performance and Performativity could appeal to students from both Art History and English. The class would draw from literary criticism, semiotic theory, performance studies, affect theory and new materialism, focusing on different methodologies for understanding, analyzing, and experiencing the formal properties of art while at the same time exploring what kinds of historical narratives/contextualizations emerge through the performative nature of art works.
