Biographical Information:

Anna Khimasia is an independent curator and educator currently living in New York. Her curatorial projects, which are often collaborative, focus on underrepresented voices, histories and narratives. She has curated exhibitions in both Canada and the US. She was the 2023-24 AIR space Curator in Residence at Abrons Arts Center in New York and recently curated a performative event and exhibition around the ritual of tea at La Maison des artistes visuels francophones in partnership with Urban Shaman Gallery in Winnipeg (2025), as Fait Maison, a cross-border collaborative performance platform. Khimasia is co-founder of International Arrivals (IA), supporting artists from countries in conflict. The IA podcast can be found on most podcast platforms. She was assistant editor for Kambui Olujimi–Meditations on Boundlessness (2025) and has an essay forthcoming on Black British performance artist Harold Offeh’s early video work, in conjunction with his survey exhibition at Kettle’s Yard, University of Cambridge (2025). She has taught courses on contemporary art and performance art at Carleton University, UCLA, and Rutgers University where she is currently a lecturer. She received her Ph.D. from the Institute for Comparative Studies in Literature, Art, and Culture, Carleton University, Canada.
