Isabel Bartolome-Thai studies Italian and French Baroque sculpture. She graduated with high honors from the University of California, Riverside with a B.A. in Art History. Her research interests include the cultural and artistic exchange between France and Italy, the artist as diplomat, and royal portraiture. She is writing her dissertation, in which she focuses on the ruler portraits by Gianlorenzo Bernini and explores the political and artistic implications of his portraits of Louis XIV and Bernini's influence on subsequent images of this king.
