Barbara Gellén is a PhD student focusing on the study of looted art during World War II, with an emphasis on the Holocaust in Eastern Europe and the challenges and possibilities of repatriation. She was a Fulbright scholar in 2021–2022 at Tufts University, Massachusetts, where she earned a certificate in Museum Studies. She holds a BA in Art History from Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, and an MA in Art Management from Budapest Metropolitan University. With a decade of professional experience in the museum field, Barbara has held various positions, including collections care specialist, curator and registrar. Her primary academic interests center on the cultural and historical impact of National Socialism, particularly as it relates to the theft and restitution of Jewish heritage.
