RU Art History Dept. A gift to this fund can go to where it is most needed for programming departmental activities, and supporting undergraduate and graduate travel and research.
Cultural Heritage and Preservation Studies (CHAPS) The M.A. Track is a two year degree program (30 credits) that emphasizes the development of a broad understanding of heritage contexts and policies along with development of professional skills.
Historic Preservation. The Certificate in Historic Preservation offers students a theoretical and practical introduction to the fields of cultural heritage and historic preservation through a combination of special courses and supervised internships. The Certificate will be conferred only in conjunction with the awarding a B.A. or graduate degree in an established department or other degree-granting program of the University. .
Jacobs/Mitnick American Art Fund. The fund supports graduate student research and travel in American Art, and sponsors the annual Sydney Leon Jacobs Lecture in American Art, which brings top scholars in the field of American Art History to Ruitgers.
Mary B. Cowdrey Est. & Trust The Graduate Program in Art History offers one Mary Bartlet Cowdrey Dissertation Fellowship (stipend plus tuition remission) every other year. The fellowship is an "open" dissertation fellowship to be awarded to the best-qualified candidate regardless of his/her field.
Olga Berendsen Baroque Award, is named in honor of Professor Emerita Olga Berendsen. The prize is awarded annually for an outstanding paper written by a graduate student on a subject from the Baroque period. Winners are chosen by a committee of faculty members teaching courses in the Baroque period at the time of the competition.
Patrick Quigley Fund. This endowed scholarship has been established by friends, colleagues and partners of PricewaterhouseCoopers in memory of Patrick J. Quigley RC, ‘82, a victim of the tragic events of September 11th, to provide financial assistance to students enrolled at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. The scholarship provides support in the senior year to two majors in Art History who are pursuing a college degree while working to support themselves. The first awards were given to two students entering their senior year in the Fall of 2003.
Rutgers Art Review. First published in 1980, the RAR is an annual journal produced by graduate students in the Department of Art History at Rutgers University. The journal is dedicated to presenting original research by graduate students in art history and related fields. Articles appearing in RAR are abstracted and indexed online in America: History and Life, ARTbibliographies Modern, the Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals, BHA (Bibliography of the History of Art), Historical Abstracts, and the Wilson Art Index. The journal is distributed by subscription to over one hundred of the finest university, museum, and public libraries in North America and Europe
