Will Pedrick specializes in ancient Greek material culture. His research explores the depiction of depth, time, and setting in ancient art and the intersection of art history and archaeology. He is currently writing a monograph focused on the hanging object as a perspectival device in Archaic Mediterranean art. Before joining Rutgers, Pedrick earned his M.A. and Ph.D. in Art and Archaeology from Princeton University, a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Classical Studies at the University of Pennsylvania, and his B.A. in Art History and Archaeology from the University of Virginia. His research has been supported by the Harold W. Dodds Honorific Fellowship from Princeton University and the Rome Prize Fellowship from the American Academy in Rome. Pedrick has worked as a field archaeologist in Cyprus, Greece, and Italy, and he currently serves as a supervisor for the American Excavations at Morgantina: Agora Valley Project, where he focuses on recontextualizing the fragmentary Hellenistic sculptures excavated at the site in the 1960s.
