Architectural Studies Certificate
(If you are not an Art History Major or Minor, click here to learn about the Architectural Studies Minor)
Audience:
Current undergraduates at RU-New Brunswick who are interested in architecture, cities, and any aspect of the built environment.
Eligibility:
Any Rutgers-NB student, but SAS, SEBS, and Bloustein students are especially welcome.
Career Relevance:
Students considering a career in architecture, interior design, real estate development, land use law, historic preservation, and urban planning.
Note: This minor/certificate is a general introduction to a topic that may take the student on a variety of career paths. The process of becoming a professional architect, however, requires years of study beyond the undergraduate level, approximately two years as a supervised paid intern, and the successful completion of a battery of standardized examinations managed by state licensing boards and based on national standards. The practice of architecture is highly professionalized for reasons of public safety.
