Deborah Feller is a PhD candidate whose dissertation, Traces of Trauma in the Drawings of Jusepe de Ribera, draws on knowledge from the fields of art history, psychological trauma, social work and art therapy.
A retired clinical social worker, having closed her private psychotherapy practice in 2017 after 28 years, she specialized in treating adults with PTSD from childhood sexual and other abuse, and those with addictive/compulsive disorders.
Prior to that she worked for 14 years in addiction treatment facilities, holding various positions.
Deborah has an MA in the History of Art & Archaeology from the IFA, an MFA in Figurative Studies from the NY Academy of Art, an MSW from Hunter College School of SW, and an MPS in Art Therapy & Creativity Development from Pratt Institute. She likes to stay busy.
