Feminine Style: The Miracle of the Loaves and Fishes
Tintoretto is one of the few painters in the history of Western art who throughout his career worked simultaneously in a consistent set of different styles, each of which he equipped with specific meaning. One of these was his unique and rarely studied feminine style, exemplified in The Met's The Miracle of the Loaves and Fishes, which scholar Benjamin Paul explores in depth in this talk.
Presented in conjunction with the exhibition Celebrating Tintoretto: Portrait Paintings and Studio Drawings.
