Congratulations to Melissa Beck Lemke! (MA, 1994) Melissa has just won an Ailsa Mellon Bruce National Gallery of Art Sabbatical Curatorial Fellowship for 2015-16. Her research project concerns the art photographer Clarence Kennedy.

The Board of Directors of the College Art Association determined in May 2014 that it was time to recognize the "seminal work and scholarship" of the Woman's Art Journal. Susan Sidlauskas will be working primarily on her book project, Skins: The Metamorphoses of John Singer Sargent, as a Guggenheim Fellow for 2014. Using her pre-med background, Dr. Sidlauskas uses medical "metaphor to account for what it is exactly that Sargent does with and through all those seemingly mobile layers of color he painted, and why it matters". Catherine Kupiec has received a Fulbright Fellowship to Italy for 2013-14!  Catherine will be living in Florence where she will conduct research on the materiality of Luca della Robbia's glazed terracotta sculptures for her doctoral dissertation.

Jane  Sharp has been named a Fellow at the National Humanities Center at the Research Triangle in North Carolina for the upcoming academic year (2013-14), where she will conduct research for her new project on abstract painting in the Soviet Union.
