Matsumura, Kimi

Kimiko Matsumura is a doctoral candidate in American Art. She holds a B.A. in Art History and Human Biology from the University of Kansas, and an M.A. in Art History from Indiana University. She currently serves as the graduate assistant in American Art at the Zimmerli Art Museum. Her dissertation, entitled “Science/Fiction: Habitat Dioramas, Vision, and Post-war American Art,” considers how habitat dioramas at the American Museum of Natural History and their artistic reinterpretations have been used to navigate American relationships to nature after World War II.
