Transfer of Credits

The Graduate School allows the transfer of a maximum of twelve credits from other institutions toward the Master's degree, all of which must be in art history and at the graduate level, with a grade of B or better. The Graduate School does not permit the transfer of credits for independent studies or for thesis research and writing. Students can apply for transfer of credits after having completed three courses (9 credits) in the Graduate Program in Art History at Rutgers.

Students may transfer a graduate level methods class in order to fulfill the requirement for a methods class. An unofficial transcript from the M.A.-granting institution will suffice as evidence of the successful completion of a methods class.

The faculty may require students entering with an M.A. to take additional courses at Rutgers.
