Note from Dr. Tod Marder:
In more than twenty-five years in the Department, I have seen only
one retirement. Now, in the Spring of 2001, we've accepted, reluctantly,
the retirement requests of no less than three more colleagues, Baigell,
Eidelberg, and McLachlan. They have been part of the family of the
Department since my arrival and it is due to their work and wisdom that
the program has the shape it does. No major initiatives were done
without their participation and input, and we all owe them a great debt.
